Description: We're excited to again bring you the workshop that creates the foundation for board members to make a sustainable impact on organizations through their service! Available in Milwaukee this November, PAVE's Boot Camp for Board Members is a workshop for board members at every stage of experience.
Learn about the necessary components of effective governance, some of which might be overlooked during the day-to-day activities of a board. We'll also provide you with the tools to implement these functions with your board. So even if you're well-versed in the critical components of effective governance, join us to receive helpful tools and techniques, and share experiences with other school and nonprofit leaders.
This comprehensive course covers all aspects of board membership including:
The School Context
Basic Board Responsibilities
The Board/Head of School Relationship
Board Meetings and Committees
Strategic Thinking and Planning
Assessment and Evaluation
This course is open to all current school board members who would benefit from an overview of the critical components of effective governance and is a $495 value - offered to PAVE's Partner Schools and Board Corps members for no fee.
Understanding and implementation of these board functions is an expectation for PAVE's 2016-2017 Partner Schools.
Boot Camp for Board Members is also a pre-requisite for Board Corps members who are being matched with one of PAVE's Partner Schools for board membership.
Note: This is the same Boot Camp course that was conducted in March, June and September 2013; March and June 2014; and April and September 2015.
